Based on a 1970s work jacket, this coverall is made by layering various indigo fabrics on expressive sash-dyed sashiko and hand-stitching. We use original sashiko fabric made with threads dyed indigo using a technique called kasezome, in order to achieve a light feel like a shirt. The kasezome thread changes color for each sash, so it is characterized by unevenness that appears in vertical lines when woven. You can enjoy the deep color fading even among indigo. It has red selvedge, which is unique to power looms, and has a soft and plump texture. You can enjoy the aging of various “blues” along with the cotton indigo fabric used as a patch. The shoulders have a moderate fit, and the silhouette is loose from the body to the hem. The fabric on top is the indigo fabric that BLUE BLUE JAPAN has been using until now. The indigo colour of the base Kasezome sashiko and the indigo colour of the various patches will each have their own unique characteristics and will change over time to suit the wearer’s lifestyle.
