Barbour

The Barbour story began in 1894 in the Market Place, South Shields, in the North East of England. More than 130 years later, the fifth-generation family-owned company remains rooted in the region, with its headquarters and factory in Simonside, South Shields, where iconic Bedale and Beaufort wax jackets are still handcrafted, repaired, and re-waxed to extend their lifespan. Today, Barbour offers a complete wardrobe of functional British clothing, including outerwear, shirts, trousers, knitwear, dresses, footwear, and accessories for men, women, children, and dogs, while Barbour International—drawing on the brand’s motorcycle heritage dating back to 1936—continues as a distinct label with its own identity since 2013.
