A staple of Barnstormer, as the name suggests, these are dress chinos. These cotton pants, which have been used as military pants since the 1940s, are tailored like slacks.
Typical chinos are made in the same way as jeans, with straight double stitches to increase strength.
On the other hand, Barnstormer chinos were worn by officers and were sewn like slacks, and like tailoring they have lots of seam allowance and are made with curves, so they are roomy but look beautiful when fitted to the body.
The fabric is made from traditional single-ply yarn, with a loose twist that gives it a thick yet supple texture. It's casual, but the inside is tailor-made.
